@ratking I just want to get rid of the stuff that is actually unnecessary. The unnecessary resource hogs if you will. My specs are fairly high, but junk is junk.
@evilcookies98 I have no clue. My wife has a dell and there's soenm stuff i've been very reluctant to remove in case it causes issues as getting it back is a major pain
@ratking I tried to ask on one of their online communities and all I’m getting is links to how to find everything. These people are being of absolutely zero use. I’m not having resource problems, but if it doesn’t actually do anything, and if it isn’t needed, it doesn’t need to be there. that would be like somebody installing Photoshop on a computer that was only going to be used for Word processing
@evilcookies98 if its' not doing any harm i'd jsut leave it be. Just stay away from it. Unless you're really really low in space it's not worth the risk of making your machine hard to use
@ratking one of them I would like to be able to turn off notifications for. I know it’s necessary, but that stupid support Assist thing is pestering me to optimize things every five minutes. If there was a way to kill every single notification for that process I would be a happy happy happy human.
@ratking thank you. I’ll have to figure out how to do it. Seems like it’s beeping at me every five minutes and it’s driving me insane. I can’t be optimizing things when I’m in the middle of using the computer, which is generally the case if I’m seeing notifications from it. I don’t sit at the computer just to listen to it beep after all.
@evilcookies98@ratking in windows 10 you could go to settings with windows i, then go to system, and then go to notifications, and look for things you don't want to see notifications for and change them from on to off. if you are using windows 11, I am not quite sure where it would be, but I could look when I am on my laptop.
@evilcookies98@ratking you are very welcome. that is how I turned off the ones for VLC, or it would drive me nuts, when I am streaming to say kalvins tv. every time it starts playing a new file, it gives you a notification.
