@StillIRise1963 Not sure if you've read it, but there's a great book "Freedom's Dominion: A Saga of White Resistance to Federal Power" that won a 2023 Pulitzer for history that is a fantastic read on this specifically. I've been referencing it in numerous conversations since reading as it's very well researched with tons of objective data citation if anyone tries to pull the bad faith "Source?" card.
