I’m on an extremely clean, affordable, fast, and timely monorail train to the airport in Naha, Okinawa. It even has these gated walls to prevent injury.
Sometimes when I see what is possible elsewhere, I can’t believe the state of US transit.
@Tooden@adarsh Speaking specifically of transit and cycling. It's gotten better in a lot of cities, it's just slow because we spent decades building around cars, it's very costly to retrofit, and there's a lot of NIMBY pushback.
The NIMBY thing is strange to me because Americans love traveling places with good transit and walkability, but somehow think it won't work here (even though it already does in some places in the US).
