smellsofbikes, I'm trying to test thermal shutdown on an IC: if it gets hot enough, does its thermal regulation work? It has: an ADC measuring die temp via bandgap, a hardware bandgap that cuts function at a specific temperature, and a write register that you can set a value into so when it exceeds that value it shuts down. The important one, the hardware that should cut the power section, is way off. It hasn't tripped at 200C.
So today I talked to a running chip through liquid solder. That's a first.
