Turkey will approve Sweden's NATO application as soon as the EU accepts Türkiye's membership. This was announced by Turkish President Erdogan on the eve of the NATO summit in Vilnius starting tomorrow.
@noelreports He has apparently dropped the requirement about the EU. He knows it’s not happening. The important part is that he’s finally supporting Sweden’s accession to NATO. Either he wanted to look like the good guy or he’s getting some new fighter nets from the US. But this is huge news.

I’m sure Erdogan is perfectly aware these are two separate issues with two separate organizations that cannot be tied together. It’s a blocking move.
Aside from that it is pretty simple: Sweden meets the conditions to join NATO and should be admitted. Turkey does not meet the conditions to join the EU and should not be admitted. Step 1 for Turkey to have a chance at meeting EU conditions is to get rid of Erdogan and his ilk, and that is obviously not going to happen on his watch.
