@popey pragmatically shoes don't last long and you've probably got hard soles by now anyway. A wok should last ages and will change what you can eat massively of you don't have something similar. (of course you'll need oil for it which might be more fun)
@sldrant@popey I agree with Anton. I'd also like to add that any sort of metal container or pot (like a wok) is a god send in a survival situation. Examples: rain collector or making water from salt water.
@popey interestingly I just heard on a podcast (no such thing as a fish), from a survival expert, that shoes are the first thing you should look for if shipwrecked/plane-crashed. Though I expect you can fashion something rudimentary if you have a few tools too. Can see they would help for a while, but doubt they'd last well unless you can keep them dry
