The one legal collective defense Aotearoa still has against privatising or foreign ownership and control of NZ water is te Tiriti o Waitangi principles. 🤔
In all the discussion about centralisation, such as the furore over 3 Waters, one question never seems to get asked. Why are small organisations struggling to get credit, even for essential public interest work, such that amalgamation into mega-entities is seen as the only financially viable solution?
The decades of low rates and lack of infrastructure during the Governance of the Old Auckland City Council which was dominated by Right leaning Councillors is coming home to roost.
