(1/4) Here's a photo essay of the prototype. It does look gorgeous, doesn't it? 😁😍

Two more units are cooking... They will come out tender and just right. 😋 That's four prototypes done, which are also the first four development units, as everything worked (I did do some fine-tuning for the final board, but that's just that: fine-tuning).

And so it begins! Testing the expansion port protocol in ... fingers crossed; if this passes, this is it, it's all done.

And then there were two! is coming, the ultimate in educational retro multi-processing. (I differentiate the two units based on the color of the header that disables the buzzer 😜 ).

The new BIOS is taking shape...

Answering requests, here's running the cellular automaton test applications on both CPUs (the Z80 and the 6502). On the Z80 I run it at only 4MHz (instead of 8MHz) because at top speed the pattern becomes impossible to see. Short of testing the expansion slot (TBD), the prototype is fully functional. @olimex https://youtu.be/6yKA7pf2ww4

Introducing CERBERUS 2100™, the next step in expandable multi-CPU 8-bit systems, by @TheByteAttic

[ I really like the multi-processing capabilities, I wonder how hard would it be to create a ZX-BERUS with a handful of Z80s instead of a hybrid dual-headed Z80/6502 chimera. All in all, an excellent project and there's a lot of work that would be reusable to bootstrap anyone who would like to build a SMPeccy. Handy!🙂 ]

The dog is back, now in colors (!), but still running the old firmware... 😜 .

It's happening! Still missing the two CPUs, buzzer, pull-up resistor banks and most of the connectors. But already tested: in-system bootloader burning, sketch upload via serial, and clock generation circuit. , the 'Agon' of hardware enthusiasts! More here:

And it's fully assembled! The very first prototype of is here. But because of the realities of life, further testing will take several days to begin. I look forward to it! @olimex

(THREAD) Hi everybody. So, this is really happening: the PCB has been sent to the manufacturers and parts have been ordered (I'll drag-solder the main chips myself). I'm very happy with the design, ... (1/3)

... After that it will probably take me another three weeks to get something up and running. is coming!
