#ForkedMeadow#California received about 4" of ice pellets and snow overnight although it's a bit hard to tell with certainty because the ground was warm at the start so much of the early precipitation did not stay frozen.
The overnight low was 19f and it's currently 26f.
There will be heavy thunderstorms today which would cause more snow for the meadows. It will be interesting to see just how much we get.
It's currently 24f and there's about 2 ft of new snow on the ground since yesterday at #ForkedMeadow#California which absolutely outstanding for the water year.
This is a relatively late and cold storm for the central #SierraNevada where for the last decade or so the snow usually has let up by April. But things aren't normal with the weather anymore in the #Sierras and the mountains are having odd weather just like everywhere else 😬
It's currently 13f after an overnight low of 11f at #ForkedMeadow#California . We received a dusting of snow in the last few hours but no new major accumulations after the #blizzard turned out to be a bust.
The next storm is due in on Tuesday. Fingers crossed we get a few more feet of snow. Every snowflake counts!
It's 32f and snowing hard at #ForkedMeadow#California after a high of 44f and 0.2" of rain today. Hopefully we can pick up some good snow overnight so the central #SierraNevada#Mountains can build a good base.
One of the wildlife cameras at #ForkedMeadow#California got bit by a bear! It's still working but we might have to do some sealing to keep it waterproof.
Hopefully I'll get some video of the bear sampling the camera next week.
It's shaping up to be a beautiful day at #ForkedMeadow#california where it is currently 62f and the clouds have broken. There might be thunderstorms later from #Hilary but so far this storm seems to have done a lot of good for the central #Sierra where over an inch of rain fell and significantly reduced fire danger at least for a few weeks.
The first rain of #Hilary has reached #ForkedMeadow#California where it is 58f and lightly raining at 0.07"/hr. It looks like things will pick up soon in the central #Sierra
A beautiful start to the morning at #ForkedMeadow#California! I wonder how the new #WolfPack south of us is doing on this fine summer morning? It is only a matter of time before we see some wolves at Forked Meadow!
Yesterday the high was 69f and the overnight low was 43f. Right now it's 48f. #CaWx
Believe it or not, there's drizzle at #ForkedMeadow#California ! This is from some of the tropical moisture coming through the state. The drizzle isn't enough to make the rain gauge register but everything is damp and fresh, and with a sheen of moisture. We'll take anything we can get in the #Sierras !
Yesterday the high was 72f with an overnight low of 49f and currently it's 53f.
It's a glorious #summer day at #ForkedMeadow#California. It's currently 57f. Overnight it went down to 50f. Yesterday it was up to 85f. I think it'll be another warm day today. Now is the time to be in the #SierraNevada when it's blazing hot in the valley. Amazingly there is still snow on Nelson Mountain (altitude 10326ft). Anything above 10000ft in the central #Sierras is still going to have at least some snow this week.
It's a warm day today at #ForkedMeadow#California where the overnight low was 39f and the high so far today is 76f (currently 74f). It's been a bit gutsy with up canyon winds from all the heat in the valley. I'm sure it'll be getting toasty rolling through the rest of this week and into the weekend while the whole country bakes.
