Given the issues I was having with #DNS on my #HomeNetwork I've written a post about how I made things a little better.

I totally understand men that obsess over their lawn. I do the exact same thing with my home network.

Anyone have any good recommendations for replacing a Telus Fibre (Telus Wifi Hub https://www.telus.com/en/support/article/telus-wi-fi-hub-installation)router with a 3rd party that supports advanced stuff like DNS loopback? In addition to the home router I have a Mesh WIFI provided by Deco (TP-Link) M9 stations, and a TP-Link 28 port switch.

I need quick feedback. I'm looking for a (managed?) 8-10 port network switch. Should I go with TP-Link or Netgear? Or is there some brand I'm not aware of? Must be available in Germany ideally on Amazon Germany with Prime as I "need" it tomorrow.

I'm currently considering this one: https://amzn.to/3SvUFlM

I need to rebuild one of my spare routers, and I'm debating what to run on it. Choices are...
Debian
Ubuntu Server (50-50 about this)
OpenWRT (yep there's a PC build of that - https://openwrt.org/docs/guide-user/installation/openwrt_x86)
PFSense or Opnsense

The first two are nosing ahead, because for this mess I need multiple VLANs, a DHCP server for each VLAN, optional cross-VLAN routing, IPv4 and v6 firewalling and NAT.

I'm kinda leaning towards Ubuntu/Debian because it's what I know...

coco,

Bref ma config actuelle c'est :

Appareil -> VPN -> Freebox (VM) -> VPN Cloudflare Warp -> Internet

Le VPN entre mon appareil et chez moi est pas optimisé probablement, mais le reste du chemin vers les services que j'utilise a priori si

First box of goodies from FS has arrived. Time to fibre up the place. 😬

Tech question. I have an older non-wifi USB printer. Can I just plug it into a USB port on my router and find it on the network wifi from our laptops?

Part 2- if not, what is the most reliable wifi printer as far as maintaining a stable connection? I’ve given up on my Epson at work and plugged it in.

I need a robust solution for my non-tech spouse and no longer have a connected computer to share from when I’m gone with my MBP.
