LEGO sets were one of about two main themes: Space (LL924!) and city. And new sets would be separated from the big pile for about 5 seconds after they left the box.
Also, saying "Gimme a two" and "Gimme a one" were unambiguous and got you the brick you wanted.
@Monsterlady yes! Back in our day bands were made up of actual MUSICIANS, who really could play, sing (except Bob Dillon), and write lyrics. #imnotsayingimoldbut
#ImNotSayingImOldBut I saw that an 80s song I was playing was the 1997 remaster and for a brief second thought "nice that it got a good remaster so very recently ".

every time I see an ad for a "Moon Pod" "revolution in seating" thing I see an old Beanbag Chair from the 1980s.
Seriously, people--there's a reason why people quit buying Beanbag Chairs. Without back support and your butt sinking below your knees, over the long haul they get UNcomfortable.
I rather enjoyed action table lamps that featured scenery on the rotating part and on the fixed part something like an antique auto or someone riding a horse. The heat of the lamp made the scenery go 'round.
