Busy-ish day at work, followed by not even sure when I get home. Our dryer is once again not working properly as it sounds like a belt snapped last night when I as trying to quickly do a load of the twins' clothes.
I am thankful that we have not disposed of the old drier yet, in case we need it.
Spent the morning and lunchtime out with MDMRNia (12 year old daughter). We went out shopping to Box Lunch and Hot Topic to check out geeky stuff. She got a few Stitch hoodies. I got a Sonic the Hedgehog "Hawaiian shirt."
Oh, and I also found a Rooster Fighter shirt. I...didn't know there was Rooster Fighter merch.
Thanks to everyone who reached out yesterday either here or elsewhere about my anxiety issues. Most day are fine and my meds control it well, but yesterday was rough.
I am thankful for medication that helps and thankful for friends both in person and online who listen and care.
Woke up early with my anxiety piling up. Not in a way that made any lick of sense. Skipped the gym as I dealt with it. I know it's quite literally all in my head, but when it controls all of me and gives me overwhelming feelings of nervousness, it doesn't make it less bad.
My wife is very understanding. I am very thankful for a patient wife.
Currently converting an enormous invoice to a searchable PDF as it arrived with mostly pics for huge sections of it and I need to thoroughly review it.
The secret life of an environmental engineer. It's not all sampling and cleaning groundwater. Sometimes...it's writing emails and reviewing invoices too.
I am thankful for my job and that I am able to provide for my family.
Last night, my 9 year olds won their indoor soccer game against a very tough opponent 3-1. They played what is quite possibly their best game of the season. Very proud of the entire team.
I'm thankful to have kids on a team with parents' who are good sports and encouraging, mostly, to the kids. I've seen the opposite with discouraging / angry parents and I am glad we don't have that.
For those for whom Valentine's Day is hard, I pray you are provided calm, comfort, or whatever you may need today.
Today began with the gym, then my wife picked out some cute candies to give all the kids, then we brought some treats to their school teachers. The rest of the day will be work, a nice dinner at home with my wife, and then soccer practice for the youngest two
They said it MAY snow this morning all week. Then it rained like wild when I got up around 5, so I went back to bed cause I didn't want to drive in it.
Had a pretty good weekend. Very busy and messy Friday with lots of bonus kids (i.e. my kids had ~6 friends spend the night). However, the rest of the weekend got some gaming done, read some manga, got some laundry done, overall not bad and not as busy / stressful as it could have been. I am thankful for that.
I had a busy morning and am finally sitting down at my computer for the first time. Had to run around and dig some test pits to check on some groundwater. The glamorous life of an environmental engineer.
I am thankful for my job and the unique experiences it presents.
Hope it is a good one for you. I got up early and made it to the gym today. Also, I feel like I stretched and exercised more today than I had in a while. The soreness on my arms especially was noticeable.
I'm thankful to have access to a gym and a spouse that comes with me.
Feels like Monday 2.0, but that happens. A little tired, have a slight headache. But, I'm thankful for basics like Acetaminophen that can help me out with things like that.
Today's agenda is work, then a student showcase for the MDMRN Twins tonight at the school. It'll be cute.
Hope you are ready for the start of the week. After being out Friday, I am catching up on emails this morning. There is, of course, a lot, but it's doable.
I am thankful for having support both in my personal life and at work for when I am not around.
Today's plans are...well, work, followed by getting my kids all packed up for the weekend activities. I think they've mostly already packed up, but we'll see!
This morning I went to the gym and did the stairmill or stairclimber, whichever you call it. Basically, continuous stairs. I walked 125 floors, per the machine, over 30 minutes. My legs have never felt more like jelly.
I am thankful that I was even able to do this. I know this time last year, I absolutely would not be able to do this.
Not happy about this weekend's NLF Playoff games, but what are you going to do about it. This week is going to be busy with end of the month stuff, but it ends with a surprise for my brother that I think he'll be excited about.
Working remote this morning as I wait (again) for the folks to come to fix our dryer. They came last week, but there were issues and then the follow up was canceled cause of the weather.
I am thankful they are still coming today. I will be more thankful when my dryer is functional!
