Due to instability with @Paktodon.asia, I think I am in need of a new "home." The server has become incredibly unstable, leaving me out of touch with the world (as an introvert, social media is my main point of contact. Don't judge).
I don't know where to go. Where will it be safe? Mastodon is filled with #Islamophobes.
Are there any stable, Muslim-run instances out there?
(Before anyone suggests, I know about absolutelyhar.am. It's also unstable.)
Mastodon.nz has blocked me. All the followers I lost were folks on that server.
Will anyone give a shit? Nope. Because no one cared when I told them how I was being harassed and chased off. I haven’t been on that fucking server for MONTHS, and they’re still coming after me!!
OK, let's get into it. Let's talk about anti-Blackness on this here Fediverse, "civility traps", and "why nazis wear suits."
First: there are some trans folk that love Black people, care about our safety, and want to see the Fediverse be more welcoming to Black users.♥️ These kind folk volunteer considerable time, money, effort, and social capital, to make the Fediverse more welcoming for Black folk. We love them for this.
But there are some trans folk that are super fashy, and hate Black folk.
At the same time, I’ve seen white run instances commit such amazingly horrible acts of #racism and #discrimination against Black and Muslim folks, and no one bats an eyelid.
Thanks to @oliphant, I've been able to upload a couple of domain block lists to my account. InshAllah, they will offer some protection while I wait for my current instance to upgrade and put up a wall of sorts.
Working on following back recent followers. Sorry for taking so long. I have #OCD, #Tourettes, #GeneralAnxiety, and a fear of #Islamophobes (Islamophobephobia? 🤣). I get overwhelmed easily at times, and can be really picky about who I follow. Just trying to keep my timeline as drama free as possible (which isn’t working well at the moment!).
Not blanking out the name here, because why the hell should #Islamophobes and #bigots be protected? This is a #receipt. This is exactly why ethnic and religious minorities don’t feel welcome and safe on mastodon.
