Say hello to the 708 juniors! These triplets belong to Bear 708, Amelia, and are this year's coys. These littles are searching for scraps on what I call "Scrap Island" at Brooks Falls. Amelia is a magnificent mom! And her coys are absolutely adorable! Photos were snapped on explore live cams.

No, dear, sweet Otis did not win his bracket in the Fat Bear contest, but that's ok as he will ALWAYS be the King of Katmai and Lord of the Falls and the most beloved bear EVER. Here's another pic of the magnificent transformation he made in just a little over two months!! 💗 💗 Long Live the King!

It's Fat Bear Week at Katmai! The first pic is of Otis when he finally showed up at Brooks at the end of July. The second picture is of Otis yesterday. As Ranger Naomi said today, "vote for the bear with a story and who transformed the most." That would be the one and ONLY Otis!

This youngster won Fat Bear Junior yesterday. He is 806 Jr. and I got to see a lot of him and his mom a few weeks ago at Katmai.

Check out this absolutely GORGEOUS bear! This is Bear 284 Electra...STUNNING...name suits her! She was seen on one of the live cams today and I just had to share the snapped shots because WOW! I've never seen her before.

Bear 708 and her three cubs on the shore of Brooks River
Bear going for a snorkel to catch some fish in Brooks River
Bear 901 and her two remaining cubs. One of them died or was killed a few days ago. :( I don't know any details about the cub, but speculation is the cub was sick and died or was killed by a boar.

Our trip to Katmai was freaking AMAZING!! It was such an honor to observe these magnificent beings in their natural habitat. I took about a million pics and videos so I will try to share as many as possible.

Hubby and I are leaving tomorrow to visit Katmai National Park and the bears. We are super excited. Lots of bear photos to come, but in the meantime, here are a few I snapped from the live cams.
