The Lucasfilm's Habitat beta footage has been released finally. Check out the post on my site for links to YouTube, as well as the raw transfers over at the Internet Archive.
To celebrate the release of the Lucasfilm's Habitat beta footage coming soon, here's some screenshots of stuff that haven't been seen for 36 years.
These were on the end of the tape containing in-game newspapers and weren't part of the original transfer.
Here you see QLink explaining that they were closing Habitat down and thanking everyone. New info here is that they claimed it'd only be closed for a month. It was a year!
The Habitat tapes have been transferred and currently sit at about 56gb each for both 2 hours tapes. I'll be uploading the raw files + encodes to the Internet Archive soon.
To cover the cost of shipping from the taper and back though, I need $20. I wouldn't normally ask but things are tight right now.
If anyone can help with that, here is my PayPal link. I'll be deleting this post as soon as it's covered.
Connecting the hatchery where new avatars arrived in Club Caribe up to the rest of the world is going great! Almost at the point of being able to connect up these new areas to the areas I recreated 6 years ago and then we will have ourselves a party.
Here’s how the new Avatar region flow looks currently
@SpindleyQ made a Lucasfilm’s Habitat tool to convert artwork from the games original compiled binary files from the source, into bitmaps you can view in a browser.
