The company that owns #Metroland is pulling the plug on all of its #Ontario community newspapers, though it will maintain some coverage online. Local #journalism takes another hit. #news
Metroland is ceasing publication of its more than 70 community newspapers immediately. The announcement also includes layoff notices to 605 workers.
A sad day for local news.
