A fine Graham MacKay from Saturday...

I'm thinking PP's going to stick with the strategy:

  • blame vulnerable minorities for everything
  • say little to nothing in campaigns. Offer no solutions.
  • after the election, pivot to a Doug Ford style kleptocracy.

The "working class" supporters get nothing. They got nothing from Harper. They got nothing from Ford. They got not much from Trudeau.

The number of stories I’ve read recently that lead with “Poilievre tight lipped about” lately is troubling.

He’s ’right lipped’ because he knows that if his actual agenda gets leaked it’s going to cost him votes. This is straight-up deception and he needs to be called out on this at every opportunity. Our is letting us down on this big-time.

Largely because we’re set on McMansions and condos, which is what unfettered developers build, almost exclusively, because of the margins.

"It's all gonna be fun and playful, and there'll be speeches and music. We don't expect anything too crazy, to be honest..just a really celebratory energy in the crowd." said one of the organizers.

Ottawa police say they have 'robust plan' to deal with planned weekend gathering.

Dear ,

Since you can’t be bothered to do actual journalism I’ve done your jobs for you:

No, the federal government did not seize the convoy’s money.

They temporarily froze the accounts of people who contributed money to the logistical support of the convoy, which would have been fine even w/o the EA given that there is no lawful way to finance ongoing criminality.

The court froze the money pending the class action suit.

That has nothing to do with the federal government whatsoever.

Today, a petulant Pierre refused to answer her question and then shut down a Canadian Press reporter, "You're just a tax-funded mouthpiece to the PMO."

Poilievre's playbook = Trump's playbook:

  • ask which news outlet a journalist is from
  • proceed to attack their credibility
  • dismiss the reporter, then blame PM

Discrediting the press is a tactic to make the public distrust all media and a very effective tool to avoid answering questions.

gemelliz,
@gemelliz@mstdn.ca avatar

"The higher Pierre climbs in the polls, the testier he gets with the media and their questions.

Here's a tip for Poilievre: should he become prime minister, the media won’t be taking orders from him or his staff either. That is not how grown-up democracies work."
