"Blue Rondo à la Turk" is a composition by Dave Brubeck. It appeared on the album in 1959. It is written in 98 time, with one side theme in 44, and the choice of rhythm was inspired by the time signatures. It was originally recorded by the with Dave Brubeck on piano, on alto saxophone, on bass, and on drums.

Paul Desmond (feat. Jim Hall) - "Bossa Antigua" (1965)

Desmond's play on "bossa nova" ("new thing") was "bossa antigua" ("old thing" in Spanish), although the Portuguese "bossa antiga" would be a more accurate translation of PD's joke.
