This year, @rubycentral announced that 2025 will be the last @railsconf. While I’m sad to lose a favorite Ruby conference, it’s for the best. The Ruby Central team will be able to focus on their core mission: supporting the Ruby language.

I’m not a dad, but I’ve decided I’m in my “dad beer” era. I just want to drink something that tastes pretty good and that I can drink like three of while hanging out and chatting with people at a bar without actually getting drunk.
Legal weed has really changed the alcohol math for me. If I want to be a little silly, I would rather just take half an edible at the beginning of the night, drink like two beers while staying on everyone else’s level, and then around midnight be 100% normal again and go to bed.
This really worked out for me at #RailsConf. Also, if you are going to an event, being the guy who has weed is a great way to make friends 😂
Now would be a great time for someone to get in on the ground floor of sponsoring the Rooftop Ruby podcast at a great rate. I can tell you from meeting them at #RailsConf we have a fantastic audience.
I don't mind posting slides online, but I feel like slides without the context of the talk doesn't have as much value. If slides were all you need, why give the talk?
@tenderlove I was having a discussion about this at #railsconf. I’m sorry, but I do not remember with who… last week was a blur. They mentioned it as an accessibility issue. For me, I’d rather make my slides props and publish videos and transcripts for accessibility. I’m an extemporaneous speaker and I feel like my talks would be much worse if I changed the slides to be more descriptive.
Met some really great folks from Triple Seat tonight. One of the things I love about #RailsConf is meeting folks in industries that I don't know much about. I'm very grateful I could meet them and chat about the hospitality industry!!
@tenderlove it was great talking with you! This was the first #RailsConf for most of us, and speaking for my team here, it was an awesome experience. There were so many fantastic people and ideas all in one place. What an awesome community.
That’s a wrap on #RailsConf 2023! What an amazing experience: thank you to everyone that came to my talk, gave a talk, attended, or helped run the conference. What an amazing community. Let’s do it again sometime!
