In my historical romance Castle of the Wolf (a surprise inheritance! a castle in the Black Forest! a grumpy hero!), the heroine receives a very special deck of playing cards when she asks her motherly friend Mrs. Chisholm for advice concerning the marriage bed... 😁

Today, I read Sandra Schwab's "The Return of the Earl", and yes, it had me in tears for most of the time.

It's a very bittersweet story with a wonderful happy ending. And a great horse. Totally loved it.

Funny enough, I had just looked up Mow Cop Castle yesterday, so it was even nicer to see a folly play an important role in the story.

You're also in luck because it's currently on sale on Amazon:

I as Band Sinister by KJ Charles (2018). This 🏳️‍🌈 M/M historical is mis-titled, but otherwise is charming. It was in the Audible Premium Plus catalog, so I didn’t pay anything extra for it. @romancebooks

One thing I learned from reading my wife's novels is that men can be gold diggers, too. But in the novels they're called "fortune hunters" instead.
