Us Latinos work hard just like everyone else yet Republicans want to kick us off the country because we are different. Without immigrants our country would've never been found.

DeSantis' campaign is based entirely on attacking and dehumanizing a tiny, vulnerable community. It's sickening, and anyone who supports him needs to ask themselves why the vicious degradation of their fellow Americans animates them.

You don't remember the Alamo.

In April 1832, the Mexican government closed a loophole allowing settlers to reclassify their human chattel as indentured servants. This finally outlawed slavery, full stop.

For Stephen Austin, this was the last straw. “Texas must be a slave country,” he wrote a friend, “circumstances and unavoidable necessity compels it.”

And in the "As if we needed more proof Republicans are the problem" file...

«“If they want to bring up that it was about , or say that the defenders were , or anything like that, they need to take their rear ends over the state border and get the hell out of ,” said Brandon Burkhart, president of the This is Freedom Texas Force, a group that held an armed protest last year in Alamo Plaza.»

Great work by Washington Post

Just 11 people have file the majority of school book ban requests.

But buried in the text, is that several of them are part of GOP-aligned "Moms for Liberty". So, not only is this not grassroots, it's GOP culture war.

“This country was founded on the freedom of religion. This is not a Christian nation; we don’t have an official religion. It’s a vocal minority doing this, and their actions are profoundly disrespectful to the men and women who fought and died to protect that freedom.”

“Proposed Texas Law Wants to Make School Children 'Battlefield' Ready

In response to school shootings, a new bill in Texas would require public schools to install "bleeding stations" and train kids as young as third grade in trauma care.”

This is grotesque.

The United States of America is a war zone.

The children are hostages.

The terrorists are hiding behind the hostages.

The terrorists are the Republicans.

The NRA funds terrorism.

Only you can end this.

What people need to understand is if we default on our debt our economy will be shattered worse than the 2009 financial crisis and potentially worse than the great depression in the 1930s. People need to pay attention and demand that our elected officials especially the Republicans stop playing games and pass a clean bill that will raise the debt ceiling then negotiate on other things later. What Kevin McCarthy and the Republicans are doing is threatening to shut down our entire economy out of spite in a desperate attempt to take back power after a disappointing midterm results.

On April 6, the Biden administration proposed a rule change to Title IX that would prevent schools from banning transgender athletes from participating in sports teams that align with their gender identities, although exceptions could be made for the highest levels of competition.

On the same day, the U.S. Supreme Court declined to allow West Virginia to enforce a state law prohibiting transgender athletes from joining female sports teams at public schools. This law is one of many measures backed by Republicans across the country, aimed at limiting LGBTQ rights.
