C'mon over and help me dig thru the stacks... It's time to take a break from the hot takes and shift into analog gear for a while.

Spinning vinyl from 7-10(pst)

I'm thinking easy-listening Exotica thru the dinner hour and then early electronica like Kraftwerk later on.

Before every SRL show Matt would make a soundtrack of this kind of music and blast it at high-volume to the audience just to bring the nervous energy to a peak before the chaos began.

What’s you may ask? The original “theater of machinery” one might say. Long before Burning Man, or the fire arts movement, there was Mark Pauline and his dangerous flame spewing robots. I was one of his main henchmen for about 5 years.

An excellent recount of 's adventures around Belva Crater by Travis Brown, Chief Engineer for the heli at JPL: https://mars.nasa.gov/mars2020/mission/status/466/hide-and-seek/

The post confirms that had significant difficulties talking to the in that area, something visibility plots (+below horizon estimates) were suggesting before the flight (https://mastodon.social/@65dBnoise/110102587325157180). Interestingly, Brown says this is the first time they had a complete blackout of radio communications.

that could increase radio coverage and allow the helicopter team to plan their extended mission relatively independently from both and the future (Sample Return Lander).

Anyone on here ever see any performances? I became fascinated with them in the 1980s & wished I could have seen them, but they were not close by, so alas. I discovered them via a very cool video store called Great Society Video that catered to all things weird, strange, transgressive, & avant garde. At the time was putting out videos of their shows. I thought they looked awesome. I was also young. 😂
