Listening to several political podcasts from assorted British commentators this week, there seems to be a consensus that the #SNP's #GazaCeasefire motion was primarily a cynical ploy to embarrass #Labour.
This seems to me to be
a. Lazy;
b. Cynical;
c. Woefully ill-informed about Scotland;
d. Wrong.
Even ignoring the fact that the leader of the SNP's wife is #Palestinian, sympathy for the Palestinian cause on the left in Scotland is very widespread.
"I worked with Mandela – Starmer is the antithesis of Mandela: no courage, no principles, no integrity, no conviction, no morality, only mendacity.”
So said Andrew Feinstein, a "former African National Congress MP in South Africa, [who] will run as a candidate in Starmer’s central London seat of Holborn and St Pancras".
Actual purges. How does anyone still think they can vote for these ghouls?
"A Labour source told PoliticsHome: "the whips have assured people that Tahir will not be selected". Osamor is expected to remain suspended, and will thus be deselected."
Because they dared to be on the right side of history on genocide.
Labour's #OptionalIdentityMark latest campaign letter is called "Scotland's Future". Printed in Wales, it states without a hint of irony that Labour will put an end to “empty promises from two failing governments [the SNP at Holyrood and the Tories at Westminster]."
The ending "empty promises" promise is particularly encouraging. The future's bright for Scotland!
"Labour will NOT reinstate cap on bankers' bonuses": shadow Chancellor.
"We don’t have any intention of bringing [it] back. And as a chancellor of the exchequer, I would want to be a champion of a successful and thriving financial services industry in the UK.”
