As the #IDF continues to attack and murder defenceless Palestinians in #Rafah, ignoring the International Court of Justice, what response can we expect from Starmer?
What would Starmer be saying / doing now if he were Prime Minister?
Would #StarmerChameleon be on the side of the #ICJ or the IDF? Would he just go into hiding as usual, leaving Lammy to address the issue with weasel words in The Daily Mail?
Change nothing, take what we can, give nothing back
Which is fer doos seein as ther nae mair thin wan subsidiary eh the very same Westminster Corruption Group as the Tories an yer Undemocratic Liberally Enabling Sniders, who aw see this election as jist anorrer chance tae continue syphonin aff public funds tae line corporate pockets while enriching thaimsels .. At your expense!
So thers yer Labour Change fur ye ,they jist omitted the wurd 'Nohin'
"Natalie Elphicke's defection, and Starmer's welcome that has been extended to her, is the clearest sign as to why his capacity to govern is so limited... he does not have the most basic understanding of what is required to undertake that role, which is the capacity to make decisions based upon a transparent ethical framework... He has no such framework, and that is what will pull him down.
Despite stating that an #SNP pro-independence win in the 2021 Holyrood election would give Scots a democratic mandate to hold #indyref2 Starmer subsequently swivelled, stating that in effect he would block another #ScottishIndependence referendum "forever".
I wouldn't trust #Captain_UTurn or his fellow flag-shagging wannabe Thatcherites with a bag of marbles.
"Keir Starmer has not even acknowledged an invitation to Bute House to discuss child poverty and other key issues, First Minister Humza Yousaf has said – more than a month after the offer was made.
"The #SNP leader told press at an event in Edinburgh that he was “still waiting for a reply, even an acknowledgement” from Starmer after issuing the invitation on January 21."
Listening to several political podcasts from assorted British commentators this week, there seems to be a consensus that the #SNP's #GazaCeasefire motion was primarily a cynical ploy to embarrass #Labour.
This seems to me to be
a. Lazy;
b. Cynical;
c. Woefully ill-informed about Scotland;
d. Wrong.
Even ignoring the fact that the leader of the SNP's wife is #Palestinian, sympathy for the Palestinian cause on the left in Scotland is very widespread.
"Starmer was in Glasgow at the weekend. 'We don't want you to go. Don't leave us. Come back to Labour. With Labour I give you my word Scotland will be at the heart of our precious Union. Let's forget about referendums! Change is coming, a fresh start is coming, you can trust me!' he said."
If Labour's only two MPs in Scotland, Murray and Shanks, vote in favour of the #SNP ceasefire motion this week, will it be Starmer or Sarwar who sacks them from shadow ministerial positions at the "Scottish" Territorial Office?
Who thinks this type of question will ever be asked by any 'journalist' in the Scottish media?
(Next up, intelligent life has been found on a newly discovered planet on the edges of our solar system.)
"I worked with Mandela – Starmer is the antithesis of Mandela: no courage, no principles, no integrity, no conviction, no morality, only mendacity.”
So said Andrew Feinstein, a "former African National Congress MP in South Africa, [who] will run as a candidate in Starmer’s central London seat of Holborn and St Pancras".
What's the point of seeking election if you're terrified of promoting a sustainable genuine difference? If you're terrified of offering an alternative to far right fascistic populism, discredited economics, institutionalised corruption, xenophobia, cynical culture wars, straightforward incompetence and cruelty, Little Englander mediocrity and decline?
"Keir Starmer has been accused of a “total lack of ambition” after he slashed a pledge of £28 billion in green investment each year to £4.7 billion – the same amount as the Scottish Government has allocated in its new budget.
"The Scottish Greens highlighted that Starmer’s new pledge was only equivalent to the amount which Scotland is already set to spend on climate projects in 2024/25."
"Even one of Tony Blair’s former advisers is exasperated with Starmer. John McTernan, a former senior adviser to... Blair has admitted to wondering “What is the point?” in response to the Labour Party under Keir Starmer.
"When you’re too right wing even for the right wing of the Labour party under Tony Blair, then you are a Tory in all but name."
Actual purges. How does anyone still think they can vote for these ghouls?
"A Labour source told PoliticsHome: "the whips have assured people that Tahir will not be selected". Osamor is expected to remain suspended, and will thus be deselected."
Because they dared to be on the right side of history on genocide.
Labour's #OptionalIdentityMark latest campaign letter is called "Scotland's Future". Printed in Wales, it states without a hint of irony that Labour will put an end to “empty promises from two failing governments [the SNP at Holyrood and the Tories at Westminster]."
The ending "empty promises" promise is particularly encouraging. The future's bright for Scotland!
"Labour will NOT reinstate cap on bankers' bonuses": shadow Chancellor.
"We don’t have any intention of bringing [it] back. And as a chancellor of the exchequer, I would want to be a champion of a successful and thriving financial services industry in the UK.”
