After some reading, it turns out Joe Cronin was ticked off by Lillard's Miami trade demand. When they met, Cronin told Lillard they'd be after a lot from Miami, Lillard said if he couldn't go to Miami he wanted to stay on the #TrailBlazers but Cronin said he couldn't.
Meanwhile, #Portland is seeking trades for Jrue Holliday who'd like to be wearing Lakers gear, among other preferred top swag locations. Not sure I'd trade him to a team in the West. Blazers want MVP-caliber or #1 picks.

It seems sports rumors media has decided the #TrailBlazers are going after Deantre Ayton, he of the very tall person variety. Rumor-spreaders think Nurkic is going... somewhere. Teams involved are allegedly Toronto, Chicago, Phoenix(?), maybe even Philly. All of this suggests that Lillard is headed to Sacramento or Detroit, but mostly that a trade is nigh, and, if past history is a guide, that none of the above-mentioned teams will have anything to do with it. #NBA

Damian LIllard needs to go. He shouldn't play another second for the #TrailBlazers. This player isn't looking for a contract - he has one. I wouldn't get too excited about Damian Lillard getting traded anywhere just yet. The GM said he is going to take his time, will do what's best for the team, wants to do right by Lillard but often players don't go where they desire to go, and he thinks the best outcome might be for DL to change his mind. Arms wide open, as it were.
