My ideal setup for my house would be a gaming laptop with all the fix-ins, an amazon or Roku TV, a surround sound system, a Japanese toilet with built-in washing, drying, butt warming and massage features, and a hottub with jets for relaxation and so I can clean myself. For the kitchen, I want a George Forman grill, an air fryer, preferably one that talks or is smart, whichever works, a convection oven, a sandwich maker, and access to a grocery store or a service where I get food monthly. That's my ideal for being a single bastard in the world.

Have I ever mentioned how much I hate typing with a TV remote? It could be any remote and any OS. I just find it tedious. You can’t even touch type. You have to scroll letter by letter. If you want to search for a long title or something, that's just plain inefficient. Look me in the eye and tell me I’m wrong. Google assistant decided to lose its hearing earlier right about the time I wanted to watch something.

I know ChatGPT 4O is amazing, but I'm beyond revolted and offended by it's fake caring enthusiastic attitude. I expect to ask it about my friend's cancer, and it either tell me how amazing it is I'm getting this first hand experience, or to tell me how sorry it feels I'm going through this. Either is infuriating in a way hard to explain, and inspires fantasies of kicking OpenAI devs in the balls! The world is full of fake. Do we really need an LLM pretending to care? Fucking revolting!

So, i love sighted people. I think y'all are some cool awesome folks who take up the majority of the human population, but I gotta tell you, you sighted folks keep forgeting that there's more than just 1 sense you should depend on and it makes me laugh because its like, did you forget hands are a thing? because the inability to really feel objects is just insane to me also, I'll never understand rejection of anything due to looks. Food, for example. the sighted world is simply wierd to me.

I love it when any filmmakers but especially indie or low-/no-budget filmmakers use sound creatively and with intention.

You can make an audience believe they have seen so much on screen if you just let them hear it. Their minds will fill in the rest.

I'm using an Australian English voice for my iPhone and I'll say, I really like it. I love the way Australians pronounce stuff because its a more full pronounciation than US english.

Now that I have a decent way to read, this book club thing can go forward. Two things. Thing number one, send in any book suggestions you have and they will go into the hat for the first book, after which whatever we have left over and any new suggestions we get will go into the voting box. Thing number two, should we let everyone read on their own time and meet once every few weeks or so to discuss things, or should we do one of those things where we take turns reading?

Using IBMTTS's 6.6 driver to get the best 22K performance also means that you get some of the absolute worst pronunciations for commonly used words as "composable," "unread," etc. Apple must be using this version since they had to create new pronunciation rules.

@pluralistic It's pretty simple for me as a person. If it works, I'm using it and if that means more convenience, so be it. This is especially true considering I can't actually drive myself and can't even get a license due to being blind.
