0.2.0 is out 🚀 . This version adds the udev rules and first hwdb entries to mark keys and buttons as not unblanking the screen on press (like volume rockers or menu/back capacitive buttons).

phoc 0.39.0 will make use of this. We moved things into a library rather than phoc itself so other compositors can make use of it too.

0.1.0 is out. Besides adding support for a new device (Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite) it's also now a shared lib (as updating it in >5 projects became cumbersome):

One of the most frustrating thing about : is so incredibly close to working perfectly witch a notch. Literally all you need to do is to increase the size of the top bar size a bit and move the calendar/notifications menu to the right and it's perfect.

But GNOME doesn't have those options, you have to use extensions. And changing the top bar size from an extension is buggy and breaks in weird ways after suspend.

But with the top bar size tweak, maximized windows end up obscured by the top bar after a resume.

agx,

@cassidy @mort When running just add the notch info to and you're done.

For fullscreen apps this needs Wayland protocol support. This is work in progress (but the compositor already uses the same info).

A gnome-shell extension could just pick up the same info.

Some progress to handle notches / cutouts of phones better in : I have a small lib that gets panel cutout / notch information as paths and can calculate a bounding box . can use it to render cutouts for debugging and can use it for layout (so far only to shift the panel down). (see follow up posts for more pictures).

agx,

Finally got to look at this again and instead of just pushing down 's top panel we now place the clock to the left or right based on the available space. The logic is still pretty simple but it covers the cases where we have data for in . Will try to land this in 0.29.0.

Phosh's clock moved to the left due to a (simulated) notch.
