I was able to make Visual Voicemail work on my #LinuxMobile phone (OnePlus 6 running #postmarketOS ) with Iliad Italian operator.
I had to guess the config phone number, I used one that was sending me an SMS on new voicemail and it worked! (VVM was previously enabled on an iPhone) @kop316 did a wonderful job with vvmplayer! it's well documented and was relatively easy to gather the missing pieces.
Bonus: After this MR gets merged, VVM will work out of the box on Iliad https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/mobile-broadband-provider-info/-/merge_requests/112
Paging all GLib fans, my colleague @dylanvanassche needs some help debugging a problem that's preventing hardware LED blinking support on #linuxmobile... Help appreciated 🙏
I needed #Rust bindings for an app to interact with #feedbackd to submit #haptic feedback. Here's the generated bindings for libfeedback in case someone else needs it too:
today we gained support for a new user interface... kinda.
moonlight is an open source client for Nvidia game stream, letting you stream games remotely from another device. It also has a cousin (sunshine) which is an open source server implementation.
The new postmarketOS moonlight UI runs the Linux app in full screen on the top of cage (the Wayland single-app compositor).
#gmobile 0.2.0 is out 🚀 . This version adds the udev rules and first hwdb entries to mark keys and buttons as not unblanking the screen on press (like volume rockers or menu/back capacitive buttons).
phoc 0.39.0 will make use of this. We moved things into a library rather than phoc itself so other compositors can make use of it too.
No manual editing this time, but an automatic postprocessing script using darktable-cli and rudimentary lens corrections. Takes ~30 sec to develop on the phone - about ten times longer than the default script used by Millipixels, but with much better results. #shotonlibrem5#librem5#mobilelinux#linuxmobile#photography
It seems to have happened without much fanfare, but about a month ago @purism has released the Librem 5 hardware layouts under GPLv3 (as original PADS and converted KiCad projects), joining the schematics that were already available from the start.
I remember how nervous I was when (in early 2020) I went to the post office with my #Librem5 📱 to drop off a 📦 and present the barcode on the phone. (Having previously scp'ed the pdf to the phone to show it in evince).
Would the 🔋 last? Would it overheat? Would the display stack hold? It worked.
Nowadays I don't spend a thought: Fill in the data on my laptop, save the pdf, have it synced automatically via #syncthing to #phosh's ticket-box folder and show it at the counter. ✅
#BitRitter now has support to open links from the detail page (or copy them). Also, Custom fields are shown on the detail page.
To smooth the overall experience, i got a basic search filter working, so you don't have to scroll to your desired #VaultWarden entry.
Lately I’ve been really hooked on #balatro.
I found out it uses the #löve2d engine, and I remembered something about Löve games being unintentionally cross platform.
Just want to quickly share with #linuxmobile folks that the new #libcamera softwareISP does indeed work with the #librem5 - and with a #PipeWire + #GStreamer pipeline. Here's a first image running Warp (from Flathub).
There's still some stuff to iron out to make this work reliably and ship to users - but things are falling into place.
#postmarketos#linuxmobile#gnome I have been daily driving PMOS edge with Gnome mobile on my OnePlus 6 for a week now. So far quite pleased with the performance, despite a few glitches, so I decided to donate some money to both of the providers making this possible - PMOS and Gnome. Thank you for making this possible. Looking forward to further development.
p.s. Managed to get the flashlight working today, another bonus! d.s.
So my Pixel 3a's #LineageOS install decided to brick itself today... any cool ROMs to try out that support AMOLED mode?
I was also considering mobile Linux, though I do really depend on Discord notifications due to my university; unsure how well that would work...
#sxmo#linuxmobile news:
i fixed the wifi-sec hotspot creation bug, added a 'GSM Disable' entry and a 'Wifi Credentials' to show pw in text and qr-code of the connected wifi or hotspot.
and:
i decided to stop messing with sourcehut, #git send-email and upstream, for fuck sake, its so demotivating! to which email address? why did it not only send the last commit? where is it gone?
i prefer to use my time for features/fixes and to document them, not to messup pipelines of others....
