Um.... is there some sort of Public Private Partnership local councils are starting.. This email seems incredibly fishy to me.
A council "gov.uk" email address sending out press releases offering interviews with someone at a law firm!?
Does this need reporting to someone?

Really not surprising at all tbh.

I am currently reading 'How Westminster Works' & it's nothing short of eye opening of the ineptness of all the politicians and the current system.

I highly recommend it.

What's so important about GOV.UK Forms is how thoughtfully they're going about it. So for example the editor UI is simple and accessible. And it's opinionated - it helps users who don't have a lot of experience with tech or design produce good quality forms.

Non-US web devs: did you know that US gov't accessibility requirements for federally funded online projects exist and, even better, come with free online validator tools? That you can use too? The guidelines are well thought out and make decent goals even when not required. The cryptic search term is Section 508, after the bit of law.

New feature in GOV.UK Notify: QR codes in letters.

Sensibly "When you add a QR code to your letter, you must provide an alternative for people who cannot scan QR codes, for example, a short URL"

“I would love to be able to design a government service where users didn’t need to go to the big website at all — a service so seamless and invisible that they barely register they are dealing with government.” Fantastic piece from @marthaedwards with an insightful look at GOV.UK’s recently-published growth strategy: https://medium.com/@mlhedwards/were-not-here-to-grow-f124f875f8b4
