#surlyBrewing Cold Smoked Cherry Darkness 2023 varietal has a cherry chocolate nose and a wonderful smokey oak and cherry finish. Smooth and just the right amount of sweetness.
Moersleutel - Buckwheat Malt, from the Odd Grain Series.
👃🏻 Molasses, leather, moisty forest. Some coffee.
👁️ Pitch black. Lacing, beige foam of fairly large bubbles.
👅 Very soft mouthfeel. A bit sickly sweet, with medium bitters towards the finish.
This is a very dark beer with quite a bitter finish. It is silky-smooth and you feel a slight warming from the 10% ABV. You do get very noticable unsweetened chocolate notes. Very tasty and I'd buy it again.
The pork loin is seared and just hit the oven, and I think I might have poured this one a BIT too hard.

With the thickest creamiest head of ANY #stout, it has so many delicious flavors of chocolate, coffee, dark sugared fruit, caramel in a smooth rich body.
After a crappy work day followed by an very annoying meeting with fellow flat owners I was quite late to join yesterday's #InternationalStoutDay. But the bourbon barrel aged #ImperialStout from the Portuguese #DoisCorvos helped to end the day in a very pleasant way.
Dark as a moonless night, sweet (but just not too sweet) and with heavy flavours from the bourbon. #itsalwaysstoutseason
Such a deep dark pour, an amazing caramelly head, rich with sweet and chocolate and coffee notes. At 12% it’s all you need for a transcendent experience.
Got the usual odd looks drinking a #PrarieArtisanAles BOMB! #imperialStout on a warm summer evening, but damnit it’s SO GOOD! Rich and velvety with coffee, cacao, vanilla, and a hint of chili pepper.
Parabolita is a variant on Parabola #ImperialStout from #FirestoneWalkerBrewing, aged in #bourbon barrels for a year and infused with ingredients to give it a "salted caramel-style drinking experience."
