Love this grotesque on Robertson and Dobbie's 1908 Glasgow Style warehouse on Wilson Street in Glasgow. It looks like a combination of the Green Man and Pan.

The former Merchants' House in Hutcheson Street in Glasgow. Built in a Classical style in the 1840s, it was used for its original purpose until the 1870s, when the Merchants' House moved to its current location on the northwest corner of George Square.

The former Gordon Brothers warehouse on the corner of Glassford Street and Wilson Street in Glasgow. Built in 1908, it was designed in the Glasgow Style by Robertson and Dobbie.

@thisismyglasgow Former Gordon Brothers warehouse became a Peckham’s for a while. Deli and cafe on ground floor (had many a fine breakfast there), and pilates and martial arts on first floor. The two upper floors were empty, to be converted to B&B but it never happened. The view is from the Chrysalis Building diagonally opposite. Looks like a Pink Ribbon walk was passing.

Former bonded warehouse on Bell Street in the Merchant City area of Glasgow. At the time it was built in 1882, it was the largest warehouse in Glasgow. Constructed for the Glasgow and South Western Railway as part of their College Goods Station, it was designed to be fire resistant and was kitted out with hydraulic lifting equipment from the start.

I love the shape of this ground floor window on a 1854 Scots Baronial style former warehouse on Brunswick Street in the Merchant City area of Glasgow.

Part of the facade of a rather wonderful Scots Baronial warehouse on the corner of Brunswick Street and Ingram Street in Glasgow. It was designed by R.W. Billings and was built in 1854. The original building behind the facade was replaced by a new building in the 1980s.

This is the Brunswick Street facade to the Simons, Jacobs and Co fruit warehouse featured in the previous post. This presumably give an idea of how the original 1883 Candleriggs facade would have looked before it was remodelled by Thomson and Sandilands in 1912.

I came across this rather unusual date plate on Blackfriars Street in Glasgow today. I'm presuming the date is 1899, but the mirror symmetry in the numbers is not something I've come across before.

Part of the former Broome and Green Fruit Merchants building hidden between other buildings down a small alley in the Merchant City area of Glasgow. Constructed in the mid 19th Century, it was possibly designed by Robert W Billings.

I love this oriel window on a 1850s Baronial style warehouse on the corner of Ingram Street and Brunswick Street in Glasgow. It's just a briliant bit of architectural design.

A large Baronial style former warehouse on the corner of Ingram Street and Brunswick Street in Glasgow. It was designed by R.W. Billings and was built in 1854.

Even amongst the many fine buildings in the Merchant Ciry area of Glasgow, this one has always stood out to me as being something a bit special.
