Saw this quick review by MarcyMe of this year’s SE Pelikan Edelstein ink, Golden Lapis, seems to be same gold shimmer as in the Golden Beryl but with a blue base color.
@paradoxmo I was reminded when I wrote with one of my currently inked pens that Van Diemans Azure Kingfisher is a similar ink that has some red sheen and looks very cool. The sample I have has been well-behaved in the Nahvalur Voyage that’s been inked with it for over a month. Possibly my biggest #fountainpen regret is that my very first good fountain pen can no longer be used. It is a #Pelikan MC120 de luxe #Calligraphy pen I bought in 1990, when I was employed by a Pelikan stockist. I've all the nib sizes for it.
It developed a leak past the piston, and I don't think these pens are repairable.
It uses the same pen body as the M150, but while I could possibly find a body, they cost about as much on the secondary market as a new M200 (which the nibs will fit).
I don't recommend any pens that are cartridge/convertor only. I only recommend piston fillers, aside from the Preppy, which can be used as an eyedropper pen.
Today, I am slightly bemused by something about my #fountainpens that I never noticed before. My #TWSBI ECOs are almost identical in size to my #Pelikan M800, which used to be considered a "large" pen. The M800 is maybe 2 mm longer, and the width of both pens is similar.
At the time I got my M800, about 30 years ago, the M800 was the largest pen Pelikan made, their top of the line regular production pen, aside from the M900 Toledo limited edition. The M1000 didn't appear until 1997.
Nuovo acquisto: penna stilografica Kaweco AL Sport, in colorazione “Iguana Blue” e pennino F.
A corredo: clip in oro e mini converter (per caricare la penna con gli inchiostri in calamaio). Subito caricata con il bellissimo inchiostro Pelikan Edelstein “Sapphire Blue”.
El tintero estaba baratissimo en la tienda esa del río grande. Y al día siguiente casa. Marrón brillante, que más bien parece un calabaza poco oscuro.
