() mandate is backfiring on a key federal agency
In offices where routine has been curtailed, a staggering 81% of respondents admitted they were actively seeking alternative opportunities. This dissatisfaction stands in contrast to offices where some level of telework is maintained, where only 42% of respondents expressed a desire to leave their current positions.

IBM recently delivered a companywide ultimatum to managers who are still working remotely, saying they must relocate near an IBM office or "separate” from the company. https://www.japantimes.co.jp/business/2024/01/30/companies/ibm-managers-remote-work/?utm_content=buffera93cb&utm_medium=social&utm_source=mastodon&utm_campaign=bffmstdn #business #companies #ibm #telework #workstylereform

To summarize the EU state of teleworking for commuters :

  • You waste hours in public transports which don’t work properly
  • You are basically doing video conference at the office with the resident staff who can do as much teleworking as they want
  • and you are tracked down like a rat in an experiment because everyone is afraid when you are not at the office.

Maybe it’s time for the EU to take over the employment rules and make it easier for everyone.
