I started rereading Sapkowski's #TheWitcher Saga and I'm beginning to understand why I fail to remember anything about it.
I skipped the short story collections, which I really like, but have read multiple times already. I really wanted to get to the Ciri prophesy plot. But Blood of Elves has to be one of the most boring books I've read. It's not "hard" to read, but nothing happens. There's no climax in the book, merely 400 pages of preamble. 😅
Any other opinions?
@mforester I keep trying to get into both the books as well as the games, especially the #witcher3. I like, for example, that this world seems very political and full of social upheavals. The theory is often more exciting than the practice. Good luck, maybe you'll find a way in sooner.

Same here. Skipped season 2 completely, worked myself through the first three episodes of season 3.
It feels wrong, but why? In my opinion, #netflix tried to have a version of #thewitcher which never existed. Not in the books (I have read all of Sapkowski's books multiple times), not in the games (just installed #witcher3 yesterday, again). They failed to catch the atmosphere, the setting, the Slavic/European culture which they ignored completely.

I have no preference really. I just pick whatever seasonal seems interesting or if I've read the manga and liked it. No preference in games either, but I tend to stay away from shooters and horror :blobCatOhNo: and gravitate toward RPGs (#Persona5Royal, #Witcher3, #BoTW etc)

At the end of my 40s I still love #VideoGames. I play on #XboxSeriesS and #GamePass (use cloud gaming while away) and increasingly on my beloved #SteamDeck for those sweet non-Xbox games.

@jynersolives am in my early 40s and been #gaming since I was 7 years old (first games: the 1980’s #Sierra adventures!) Never played consoles… until we bought an xbox One a few years back - and now, as some sort of late-bloomer, I actually prefer playing on a console.
Favorite games on the xbox since we got it: #Witcher3, #RDR2, #ACValhalla, #JediFallenOrder. Ohh and the remastered #MassEffect trilogy of course. The odd round of Xcom 2. Immense Vorfreude for #DragonAge4, and the Jedi Sequel!
