The focus on masonry layout with grid just feels like focusing on adding metallic looks to buttons as a built in CSS feature. ‘Missed the moment’. (Am I being snarky? I really love all the other stuff that came out the last few years!)

@cferdinandi I wonder, most of the designers I have worked with and do work with right now don't bother with what is possible, but what they want to achieve. So I would have to go out and "sell it" :) If that makes sense.

@eric @tbaxter I have actually long thought we all should have a document on our sites disclosing how to contact people directly about (small) website issues and accessibility problems. If people want to help you, and spend their time, make it easy for them to be heard! Perhaps like ./well-known/security and robots.txt , something we universally agree on

  • Would companies pay for their devs to attend that workshop? That's the step I never know how to predict.

Languages are silly.

These may not be the direct translations, but are what is more commonly used for the same thing - I find it funny when a language uses a loanword from another language, that the latter doesn't actually use for that thing:

English: smorgasbord (from Swedish smörgåsbord)
Swedish: buffé

American: foosball (from German Fußball)
German: Kicker

English: Diet Coke
European: Cola Light

...I bet you have more?

Looking through the comments on the Mike Paciello LinkedIn announcement that he’s joining AudioEye, a company that has used deceptive marketing and SLAPP suits in the past, a lot of people have flipped to say “what a great opportunity”, “awesome”, “this will make accessibility better”.

I think we can say that AudioEye has achieved their goal. This is how you manipulate a whole industry into aligning with your mission, even if it harms them.

    In december ga ik op tournee door het land (en daarbuiten). Het is een ware planning tour de force om alle plaatsen en mensen te bezoeken die ik wil 😅, dus ik gooi gewoon wat data eruit! Ik ben op 29 november in R’dam (en mogelijk de 30ste).
    Daarnaast ben ik van plan om tussen de 15e en 17e dec in en rond Den Haag te zijn, daarna ga ik naar België en vervolgens op de 19e naar Amsterdam. Past het de reageerders op mijn vorige toot om een van die data af te spreken? 🤗
