Money… ad dollars… a lot of em for CNN.

My first thought too. Putin is cleaning house internally. And this can just be a good move with fico not being loyal enough so you martyr him and get an even more usefull idiot in his place.

Badeendje,
@Badeendje@lemmy.world avatar

Yeah… Chatroulette never had any of these issues. I just don’t get the huplah over boobs.

A situation a human would have easily navigated.

This whole alpha testing driverless vehicles on the public road is bullshit.

If this intervenes early enough it might.

Corporate real estate is on a 'cliff edge' as firms race to rethink communal spaces (www.bbc.com)

As more employees work from home in the hybrid-work era, many companies are finding they need smaller offices. Compared to pre-pandemic floorplans designed to house as many workers as possible, more businesses are looking towards more compact but higher-quality spaces for the future....

Badeendje,
@Badeendje@lemmy.world avatar

Yeah who would have though employees are unhappy in the hellscape of open Office plans and flexible workplaces. No silence, no privacy, no rest just a constant bussing of all the worker bees around that distract you with questions, loud phone conversations and anything else. But it is much cheaper for the employer so there is that.

Yeah the Airforce pilot reference probably means drone pilot. Can imagine the Airforce training the pilots and detaching them into other units.

Badeendje,
@Badeendje@lemmy.world avatar

Except that you need to actually house, feed, clothe and train those draftees and most western militaries no longer have the capacity to do that at scale.

The fact that it is legally easy does not say anything about how difficult it will be organizationally

Badeendje,
@Badeendje@lemmy.world avatar

I’m actually wondering what is censorship. Because if you are going to include every nonsense blog and asshat that has some unfounded garbage to spew, the quality of your product will potentially be garbage. So you end up with the question on what sources to include, and you probably end up with authorative sources that are regarded higher.

The issue we already see with Google search is that seo spam and generated websites that all form a large circle jerk are setup to fool the algorithm. This will be the case for llms as well. The longer they are in use the better people will understand how to game the system. And then bad actors will get these things to say whatever they want.

I don’t know a solution, but my guess is that it lies in what used to happen for the encyclopedia Britannica etc… large pools of experts that curate the underlaying sources. Like in libraries etc.

Badeendje,
@Badeendje@lemmy.world avatar

I disagree. The whole “buyer beware” does not work. Everyone is entitled to their own opinions but not to their own facts. Plenty of people out there are not able to curate their own content and rely on others to do it for them. Librarians, curators, there are jobs specifically for that purpose.

I think it is time… no overdue, that proper curation takes over again. But the task is so enormous that it will be a challenge to figure out how this is done properly. And… commercial entities will always have incentives that are not aligned with that of the broader populace… so there is that.

3 with atacms launch pod so they can mix and match with the existing gmlrs models and hopefully once the Ewar is reduced some GLSDB as well.

I hope they can modify the GLSDB to home in on Ewar systems that spoof gps.

If he calls him crooked joe in a debate, just counter that he is projecting.

Badeendje,
@Badeendje@lemmy.world avatar

If your boss requires you to be somewhere at a specific time… then that is work … right?

And being on the other end means you are still at work. It is strange that this job went from glamorous to real shit.

@Badeendje@lemmy.world avatar

Nice write up, thanks. TIL.

Badeendje,

Well he put his net worth and value on the record. He also did so with the IRS. And now it is a legal fact that he lied about the valuation, the IRS will have some questions.

Badeendje,
@Badeendje@lemmy.world avatar

So then why not relist them and sell your game on a bigger market? The answer is probably because they will try again.

Badeendje,
@Badeendje@lemmy.world avatar

I don’t buy that… I would have when this just started… just a stupid decision made by an MBA that only thinks of his MAU and DAU (Monthly /Daily Active Users) metrics for the playstation network.

But once shit hit the fan, some big shot corpo started making central decisions from the comfort of his volcano base while petting his white cat.

Badeendje,
@Badeendje@lemmy.world avatar

If they would have put up a banner in the game or a popup every log in stating …

“Sony account requirement temporarily suspended.

Please note that in a future update this will be a hard requirement and you will not be able to play Helldivers without a PSN account”.

Then this would not have been an issue. The question is if their game would have gotten as big as it did. I’ll bet ‘no’.

Also how fucking lame is the playstation network that they still cannot handle proper game launches… ffs this should be a non issue by now. The servers that handle this should be setup to spin up and down clones when needed… But nooooo that costs extra money.

Badeendje,
@Badeendje@lemmy.world avatar

Absolutely. The region not being limited is a big indicator on intent. Or it’s the dev that “forgot” and got more sales.

I’m curious how many copies are sold in regions no longer supported.
