"You don't actually hate this thing you say you do, you really hate capitalism!" is not the defense of the things which I hate that you feel it should be.
I got enough hate in me to end the things I complain about AND capitalism.
Tonight's #Numenera session included a Nano, unlike last week’s. It helped! The party has now successfully learned approximately everything they will about the Haunted Stair location in the Glimmering Valley.
I managed to pay for two GM Intrusions but got a multiple of that, gratis, from their savagely bad dice luck.
Xp got spent on rerolls & it did help.
I graciously demurred two opportunities for a TPK because I like when players enjoy a playtime & return. If these were their third or more Numenera PC? Gloves off. But these are their first or second.
Nothing especially spoiler laden in tonight’s session. They did dungeon crawl delve slash field research until they understood the mechanisms involved sufficiently to activate & deactivate.
Inspired by ryan at dads.cool's birthday festivities (but delayed 2 days), @Vylar_Kaftan & I watched a movie neither of us had seen, never heard of, foreign (if one thinks of London as not-America for some reason) & a little bit odd.
The premise: what if Jackie Chan was a young woman & didn't want her older sister to give up her dreams for an arranged marriage.
I'm going to mention a potential issue for some viewers: the plot includes sexual assault and gaslighting about it. It comes to light in the end, but I'd rather one be over-prepared than under, if that's going to harsh their buzz, here.
it’s my birthday today, and for my birthday present I just want you to watch something weird, old, foreign, obscure, and new to you. the less you know going in to the movie the better. hit shuffle play on your watchlist. say fuck it and fire up something you’ve been wanting to watch but haven’t. go hog wild and report back with a screenshot of the title card
More #Numenera trrpg tonight. We’re three actual play sessions in to the Glimmering Valley. The players got to encounter challenge levels of 7 & higher. Some of them, through skills, assets & and level of effort when they really care, & w/ dice (bot) luck, succeeded at these incredibly heroic impossible tasks
