Right “libertarians” are more susceptible to power vacuums, provably so, with so many experiments going down the same way. Reason for that is that they aren’t really against authority, just not their kind of authority.
If you aren’t entrenching the need for active resistance to power and hierarchy, you are expected to fall the same way, that kind of attitude is very much present in actual anarchists, left anarchists.
I get it, i know how it is. I’m an Israeli anarchist, you can tell by a previous post and my user name.
I’m making a bit of a fuss over it because i find this trend within myself, having grown up in a nationalist family and a religious school, i tend to say those words as instinct as well and am trying to unlearn this behavior.
I grew up as an edgy teen as well so i guess i can relate, but now I’m intp young adulthood and trying to be better to not repel potential friends.
Not OP, but look, if someone, let’s say a stranger, has nefarious motives, they have an incentive to fake their mannerisms, this means relying on your empathy and social intelligence alone is a mistake since they may be used as a vector of attack.
In order to be safe, one must make sure they are not harmed or endangered in any way, this includes avoiding certain situations with strangers.
Also, don’t just randomly pathologize people just because you don’t understand where they are coming from, even if done with no harm in mind, you will come off as very disrespectful.
Thanks for posting the article, it’s very long but worth the read.
I wish i didn’t currently live at a family members’s house, so i could actually decide what i eat and get away from these disgusting practices.
For others, please refrain from arguing about this like this is some spccer match, i don’t like what I’m seeing from the other comments, this should be taken seriously.
The meat industrial requires inhumanity to prosper, just like any other corporation, bit this one deals with animals for said animals’ entire lives, this is systemized misery.
If any vegan is reading this, i might do a post requesting this later, but any resources for reading more or for moving to a more sustainable and less cruel way of living would be helpful.
I knew on some level that being vegan would require micro-management of my life and routine. I guess what I’m really asking is, besides doing my best to consume less (meats and in general), what are the bigger steps an individual could take to avoid contributing to those industries?
Kinda sounds easier to implement tbh, like, right now leap days are in a specific month, but wouldn’t it (in addition to a hypothetical new years day) be easier to handle and remember if they are a very explicit part of the calendar system?

That’s weird considering how much of it was documented, maybe it’s different for me because I live in this godforsaken place and news have to reach me one way or the other.
I had my PC built for me while all i had to do was specify parts, tried to get fans with no light just to avoid this, got the almost exact model but with lights.
Now if i use my PC at night my room glows pink (not for any particular reason besides it being the most dominant in my rainbow led fans)
“State transportation agencies are the recipients of the money,” he said. “Nearly all of them had no experience deploying electric vehicle charging stations before this law was enacted.”
Electric car support will take a short while to implement, but fossil fuel reduction will take a long time to show and a long time to be significant.
But Mass Public Transport takes a long while to implement and savings are quick to show, that would be because less people would require personal cars, which means direct drop in fuel usage per person, even more so in big cities which suffer because high population density requires too much parking space that is never enough.
Mass Public Transport could undo plenty of harm caused knowingly by the auto industry. funding, or in this case legitimizing the industry will not really help as electricity itself is still generated from fossil fuels.
The solution should be LESS consumption, not making excuses for the same consumption, or legitimizing more.
Agreed, also public transport should be more accommodating towards the disabled, it’s always such a weird thing that the buses (where i live in) have 0 or 1 “seating spots” for wheelchairs, instead of something modular that is more accomodating.
