FREE ADMISSION

THE BANDS. THE PHOTOS. THE STORIES. Come see a special presentation as author Julian David Stone shares rare photos, short films and stories from his best selling photobook: No Cameras Allowed: My Career as an Outlaw Rock and Roll Photographer. In 1983, as a budding teenage photographer Stone showed up at a Ramones concert intent on capturing the legendary punk band on film. When a security guard told him his equipment wasn’t welcome in the venue, he improvised, hiding his lens and camera body in his socks. Thus, a career as an “Outlaw Rock and Roll Photographer” was born. Over the next several years, as he moved from taping his equipment all over his body to finally customizing a jacket to evade getting caught by roadies and security guards, he surreptitiously snapped photos of Prince, Bruce Springsteen, David Bowie, The Go-Gos and on and on

Another question. Do you somethings find yourself being nostalgic of eras you haven't even lived but you miss them as if you were there? I do and the older films can make me travel in time too.

@silentbeauties All the time!

The more you watch old films, the more details you start to notice of the world behind the action.

Having seen "The Butcher Boy" a couple of times, I've really gotten to study what the inside of an early 20th ct general store looks like!

    We have a YouTube channel!

    In our first installment, projectionist and film historian David Kiehn explains the inner workings of a step printer--these are devices which transferred negatives to prints one frame at a time.
