I have worked in some places where people are happy to help each other out with work things, and some places where any request is treated like a huge imposition.
I wonder what leads to that difference in workplace culture. The places where people are helpful to each other are so much nicer to work at.
@MLE_online my job has gone from helpful to unhelpful in the time I've been here and it's definitely from attitudes of people higher up. Turnover created a new culture really fast. I'm also looking for a new job 🙃
My usually pretty positive TL is very angry and political this morning (with good reason). However I don't have the bandwidth for it. Please send me kitten pictures.
@HibaIssa Narns asked for comfort recs and I said the Magicians. I tried to warn about heavy topics, but it brings me so much comfort, so maybe I'm wrong and right at the same time
People probably think I'm a tweaker for looking through piles of trash left on the street, but it's worth it because I just found a cordless impact driver that's compatible with my existing set of batteries, and it works!
@timelordiroh I was playing Fallout 4 recently and my partner was making fun of me essentially ignoring all the missions so I could collect clothes and make cute little houses 😂
"This isn't an ordinary cucumber," wrote a Palestinian in Gaza.
"This cucumber was smuggled with one of the truck drivers from the southern strip to the city of #Gaza. My sister, Noor, was fortunate to receive it as a valuable gift from her husband's friend. She then decided to gift it to our mother, who kept it for a day before sending it to my sister, Heba, who divided it into halves. She used half to make a salad and shared the other half with her neighbor.
Today, my nephew, Baraa, came to me and said, Uncle, can I tell you a secret? Yesterday, we ate a cucumber."
FYI: Cucumbers are one of the many items Israel is not letting in to Gaza
@faab64@palestine@israel one of my favorite memories is coming home from Palestine and my grandmother packed us a nice lunch for the trip. She included these little cucumbers, similar to the picture. 8 year old American raised Hiba thought it was weird. But those were some of the best cucumbers I've ever eaten. I think about them a lot.
No joke I think you could make a fortune running summer camps for adults. I'd happily lie in a sleeping bag on the top bunk listening to rain pittering on the roof while we wonder which of the counselors are in loooove. Also, archery
I don't fly off until tomorrow. (Besides packing) what should I do? I kind of want to just go sit by the pool and relax and enjoy the warm weather, of it's not raining.... #gally1
That's officially a wrap on my 8th #gally1. This year looked a bit different for me because I honored my little neurodivergent brain and took breaks when I felt myself getting overstimulated and didn't attend any big panels. But I got to hug many friends and enjoy a lot of laughs. That's what it's all about. I hope everyone else had an amazing @gally1
@PennamitePLR@gally1 I really wasn't around much other than a couple panels each day and hanging out with close friends at night. It felt weird and I'm trying not to have sad girl FOMO. Glad you had a nice time!
