JeanieBurrell, to Meditation

If I were smaller
I could sit in this sun-spot
And empty my mind

And so it begins. Augusta, GA.

Wiping sweat away
A snow white camellia
The only coolness.

JeanieBurrell, to solarpunk

We plant seeds in the ground
And dreams in the sky,

Hoping that, someday, the roots of one
Will meet the upstretched limbs of the other.

It has not happened yet.
We share the sky, all of us, the whole world:

Together, we are a tribe of eyes that look upward,
Even as we stand on uncertain ground...

--"We Are of a Tribe," Alberto Rios

Quote that made me smile from Representative Earl Blumenauer (D-OR) on @npr today: "Burn calories, not fossil fuels!"

I'm here.

Amid a world of mayhem and hurt, I am taking a moment of quiet and peace.

If you'd like to take a moment too - a cup of tea, a big breath... whatever you need, come alongside, we can

JeanieBurrell,

@vlrny I have fed and mulched plants all morning as my moving meditation, and now we can with your tea, my coffee, and a few moments of . 🌿

Sometimes a meditation finds you. A teachable moment lands in the stillness between events. Yesterday, as I was exiting the garden center, a bee landed on the flowers in my cart and began feeding. I settled, watching, waiting. And when it was finished, I thanked it for the blessing.

I am here.
And being as I have been releasing my own crap this week, I will hold a space for anything anyone else needs to barf into the abyss today.
I will metaphorically hold back your hair and am poised to flush it all away. 🌀

JeanieBurrell,

@vlrny A thought to share, from Alan Watts: "The general conditioning of consciousness is to ignore intervals. We register the sound but not the silence that surrounds it." I will find a place to sit and think about this on this .

So my second analemma picture in two days. An entire year shooting the sun out of my office window at midday or 1pm and I MISSED THE BLOODY TOP OF THE ANALEMMA. Annoying. So. We start again tomorrow. #ANALEMMA #resilience #beauty #astronomy

    JeanieBurrell,

@iangriffin This is still mesmerizing, and beautiful. Such heavenly geometries.

I know I've said I don't agree with doing call out posts. But this is a call out and each of you knows who you are.

    JeanieBurrell,

@futurebird I am in this toot and I don't like it (side-eyes a corner of her garage). 😆

I have a fantastic opportunity to read Hyperion by Dan Simmons. What wonderful treats lurk in your future? What classics are you looking forward to catching up on?

    @bookstodon

    JeanieBurrell,

@golgaloth Ah, just a reach at random into my TBR pile brings up C.S. Lewis' Space Trilogy, the Meditations of Marcus Aurelius, and Rilke's Letters to a Young Poet.
