I kinda wish I could see other account's favs. Then when I see things that I want to boost from my .art account while I'm in my autistics.life account, I could find them again more easily.
@JeremyMallin You could also probably copy the link to the post from the search function on this server and open it up in your .art account to boost it there.
It's funny how many things I attributed autistic traits to before I knew.
"It must be the engineer in me."
"It must be the artist in me."
"I'm just shy."
"I must have skin allergies."
"I'm probably just hard of hearing."
"People think I'm weird because of my intelligence."
"I take things too literally because of my intellect."
"I just really like LEGO/Rubik's Cubes/gears/etc."
"My face just does weird things."
"It's just more comfortable to walk on my toes a bit."
One of the first things I asked my therapist when we started was why sensory issues are often worse during autistic burnout. The answer was basically spoons. We have far fewer of them when we're burnt out. Apparently, we spend energy everyday repressing sensory issues even if we don't know we're doing it.
I'm reminded of this because the hissing pipes in this building are killing me.
Does anyone else think gendered superhero names are weird? That has got to be the only group of characters I've ever come across where the creators feel the need to include "man", "woman", "boy", or "girl" in the name. Even decades ago that seemed weird.
@JeremyMallin Agreed. That show is the only thing that can get my brain to quiet down so I can sleep. All the characters and the main character’s voice are all so soothing.
Most of my life I frequently asked "Is this normal?" about everything I did or thought. Since discovering I'm #ActuallyAutistc, I try not to do that anymore. (try, not always successfully)
I know that "kinda", "sorta", "gotta", "gonna" aren't proper English words, but I use them, so much so that autocomplete on my phone actually suggests them now. 🤣
@JeremyMallin If I type the word autistic on my phone, it autosuggests community as the second word 😆 sometimes people as the second word. If I type The Au it will autocomplete The Autistic Innovator from all the times I sign emails to customers.
