let's imagine you're resolving this merge conflict (in screenshot).

You've forgotten which code comes from your current branch and which one comes from the "other" branch. How do you figure it out? Do you:

1. remember what the "top" and "bottom" parts correspond to from past merge conflicts?
2. remember what HEAD means?
3. read the last line of the merge conflict?
4. run something like git show main or git diff mybranch..main to see the diff?
5. enable diff3
6. something else?

Cryptominer Leverages Free GitHub CI

It's kind of obvious, given:

• overpriced cloud server renting (GCP, AWS, ..),
• increasingly heavy software ("just run these docker containers!"),
• promise of free crypto "money".

People will use "Free" cloud hosting via Travis/GitHub/Circle and other CIs to run the most compute possible, triggered via random empty commits and such. This is the new normal.

yt-dlp tip: you can directly use it with m3u8 playlist URLs. useful if you’re dealing with a website with a limited video player (my current example: https://www.berlin.de/wahlen/organisation/wahlhelfende/#video) – just open dev tools and see if you can find an m3u8 URL in the network panel :)
