MxRemy,

username checks out

MxRemy,

Trying to commit a hostile takeover by having my company’s employees fistfight their company’s employees in the town square.

MxRemy,

One, it’ll get smashed anyway. Two, if you manage to get away, they’ll work with your provider or location based apps to prove you were there and arrest you. Or, force you to unlock it so they can arrest your contacts. Filming them barely helps, there’s so many videos of cops beating the shit out of people with no justification, who have been identified and never faced any repercussions

MxRemy,

Thank you, I didn’t think of that!

Parts for a Wimshurst Electrostatic Generator! You’d think it’d just be for fun or something, but we actually need one for supplying the charge on a electrospinning machine lol

What do you think about the Gemini protocol?

For those, who do not know what the Gemini protocol is, think of it as a modern, light-weight HTTP alternative without CSS or JavaScript. In layman term, you could see it as Web 1.0 reinvented. It uses GemText instead of HTML. For folks who want to try it out, you can either install a Gemini extension for your HTTPs browser...

MxRemy,

Oooh I didn’t know about this! Does it have a search engine?

EDIT: oh I see there is! Shoulda clicked through before asking lol

MxRemy,

As in, mail the empty spool and they send it back filled? Or as in, they send it unspooled and you spool it up yourself? If it’s the latter, that’s what I do! I get my refills of PHA unspooled in the mail from a Canadian company, Filaments.ca. They probably do the same with PLA too.

MxRemy, (edited )

Granted. You get your paid two weeks, no strings attached. Your new job as a transmission tower climber has surprisingly decent benefits.

MxRemy,

I buy it if I can find it on a platform where the money is actually going to the musician. Then, I upload it in CD quality FLAC format to FunkWhale, and also add it to the SD card in my DAC (a Shanling Q1). Where it’s convenient I listen on the DAC, where it’s not I stream through FunkWhale.

MxRemy,

This is so depressing… I’d been seeing it in effect but I didn’t know all the context. We need more and better alternative search engines, like Stract.

EDIT: Actually, are any of the searXNG instances including Stract yet?

MxRemy,

My makerspace is constantly underfunded/undersupplied. A nice patron donated some sandpaper yesterday, because we’ve been out for a while. It was really sweet!

MxRemy,

Yeah, there was a buy-one-get-one-free deal down at my local game store

MxRemy,

Hang out with my boyfriends, grt drunk, maybe do some gardening if the weather is nice!

MxRemy,

Sure! I mostly grind dried parts of them into spice mixes, i.e. seeds, bark, leaves. It’s got kind of a peppery, citrussy, piney flavor. I like it in pancakes, yogurt, curry, tea… lotsa stuff.

MxRemy,

Oh yeah! And what’s even more fun, each part has a slightly different flavor. Even the berries taste different green vs red, with vs without seed, etc. It’s really versatile.

MxRemy,

That swallowtail has excellent taste… spicebush is delicious 😌👌

MxRemy,

100% agree with this. I wanted to ask though, have you tried those new mycelium steaks that are out now? They’re so so good! Delicious and affordable and made pretty sustainably too. I’d like to see more of that kinda stuff around

MxRemy, (edited )

Oh no… Literally everyone I know feels this way. That’s probably not a great sign lol

MxRemy,

Ohhh that makes sense! The opaque material acts kind of like a diffuser?

MxRemy,

cnckitchen did a pretty good comparison of different gitd filaments. There’s a video on their channel too.

I don’t remember if the comparison covered this, but I would expect PETg to work better than PLA for gitd stuff because it’s inherently more transparent, right?

MxRemy,

I seem to have the opposite reaction, I loathe the Charmin bears more than nearly any other ad in recent memory.

[Fiction Prompt] Solarpunk Factions

We have done it. We are there. A sustainable world. An abundant, renewable clean energy. A recovering ecosystem and a biodiversity that we can now help improve instead of merely defend. Changes happened. Changes in politics, in tech, in culture. We waste less, we consider the long term impact of our decisions, we consider...

MxRemy,
  • Neo-Minimalists want to gene edit humanity into forms that are inherently less resource intensive. They’re into shrinking us all, or making us able to photosynthesize.
MxRemy,

Well I mean… it is my people’s beverage of choice

MxRemy,

Same, Jerboa rules

MxRemy,

I turned off the swipe stuff. The predictive stuff i didn’t know about since i don’t use it 😅
