@OutofPrintArchive@mstdn.games

Hi there, my name is Andy, I'm from Belgium.
I spend most of my free time digitising and restoring classic video game magazines, mostly from the UK.
I've been doing this for nearly 20 years now and I'm here to share my passion for these magazines with others.
I love to read and talk about gaming memories from years gone by.

My main hobbies are gaming, both modern and retro gaming, as well as Japanese, South Korean and classic Hong Kong cinema.

I was watching a video on the review scores for Paper Mario and this popped up.

They really are completely clueless about everything aren't they?
How is this a good look when trying to advertise your AI crap?

Never mind the linking of the Vulcan salute with the phrase "Resistance is futile".

But actually thinking that it's a great way to advertise this crap by stating that it'll swallow everything up, no matter wether we fight it or not.

Yeah, brilliant advertisement there! :cat_ick:

@imalcolm

I'm completely baffled by this.
How did this even get past the original pitch?
Who would even make such a pitch?

There really was no one along the way who went "wait a minute! aren't we stating that we're the bad guys here?"

Why would a Vulcan want to assimilate us against our will?

It's all just do dumb...
Reminded me of this:

Unicorn Overlord for PS5 is just £32 right now at Amazon UK for people in the EU.
Just under £27 for people in the UK, I believe.
Be quick though as last week, when it was £36, it sold out really quickly.

Ah, that must be because I'm logged in and my address is in Belgium, so the price I'm seeing is the one including import tax!

Been diving deep into shoot em ups this past week, so I was very pleasantly surprised that I was able to find a brand new copy of Shikhondo Soul Eater on PlayStation 4 for just a bit over its original price.
Especially as this one was quite hard to find at one point and the price had shot up.

@Dr_Ubertrout
It certainly was something special.

I wonder if it might have lost a little of its magic these days as there's been so many videos and articles about what the game did and how it plays with the player perception.
But still. Really unique.

@ayysturg
I actually imported Bangaio when it launched in Japan on Dreamcast, thinking that it was way too weird to ever make it overseas.
It was my first import for the system and I fell in love with it.
So much so that I ended up hunting down the N64 version as, which is extremely similar in design and levels, but has quite a few differences in mechanics, that it was worth owning both versions.

I miss Treasure so much...
