Therootsolutions,

@pasqualeberesti I always did a pre rinse with tanks mainly to bring the tanks and reels to temp. But it was interesting to see what came off the film. I found that Ilford always rinsed purple, particularly with the 120 ( paper backed)

Therootsolutions,

@pasqualeberesti the whole pre rinse thing was controversial back in the day. Some people thought it diluted the developer. Others thought it unnecessary, for me it was just a good way to keep the developer temp consistent. Kodak films didnt have much color, IIford were purple I never used Forma. We found the 120 had more color than the 35, figured it came from the backing paper. I envy you still processing, i miss it.

  • Therootsolutions,

    @pasqualeberesti have you tried magnesium combo? A multi form mag supplement(not just oxide) citrate etc. It may help and sure cant hurt.

    What is the best concert that you've ever attended?

    Therootsolutions,

    @BlackAzizAnansi toss up between Kansas and Rush 1982. Probably would have been Pink Floyd The Wall in LA , I had tickets but fell ill.

    Therootsolutions,

    @pasqualeberesti probably that damn hammer drill

    does anyone know a technological solution to "hands are too shakey for SMD soldering"? I am thinking of some sort of device you can place your hand on that dampens the tremors
    (please RT, would really love for my gf to be able to solder fine pitch SMD stuff)

    Therootsolutions,

    @whitequark I know this is an old post but this may help.I tought technique of microsurgery The method that we used. A solid chair, both feet flat on the floor. Elbow on the table, base of the hand on the table, fingers piled up and hold the instrument with a chuck grip, thumb, 1st and 2nd finger forming a triangle( like a drills chuck). This eliminates all the levers of the body( the joints). This technique is outlined in a small book called "Acland's Practice Manual for Microvascular Surgery"

    Therootsolutions,

    @whitequark my pleasure, I hope it helps.🙂
    P.S. I think that book is still available
