If we’re headed to Starfleet Academy next, I need a classroom scene where we get a final explanation for Klingon physiology. Enterprise explained TOS look, but that look’s not used anywhere else, and then Discovery makes like five different looks, none of which are that one.

And this doesn’t even reach the fact that after Discovery introduces half a dozen or so of new Klingon looks, even from then on we basically only ever see Worf-style ones. So (1) why only humanlike during TOS and (2) why only Worf-like after Discovery?

@fraying Yeah but then Enterprise explained it. If they’d just left it at that DS9 thing maybe it’d bug me less. Once they explained it, but then also never used those human ones again, it was always going to nag me.

Journalism needs to focus on what's new, what's surprising and what's uncertain.

That's why the news can give you such a false picture of reality - because lots of important things are not uncertain. And they're not that new; but we just don't talk about them in the media because they are no longer 'surprising'.

As Hans Rosling said, you can't get an accurate picture of the world from the media, you need actual education for that.

@fraying Through what approach? (Legit ask, not pushback.) Bluesky does have some degree of reply limitations the end user can set. I don’t know if anyone uses them.

Got the first shot (of two) of my shingles vaccination and feel absolutely fine, save for a little soreness at the injection site, for which my CBD salve is working wonders.

Everyone said this one is rough but so far, so fine!

Get your shingles shots y'all. However much it hurts (it doesn't), it's soooo much less painful than shingles.

Edited to add: Apparently the shot is limited to 50 and up, a club I recently joined. So get it when you can, youngsters!

@andycarolan Most often I swipe to App Library and most of what I use tends to be at the first level and not deep in a folder, but sometimes I will search.
