I had fun writing these lyrics specially for #mjfpianotrail2024. By far the two best pianos on the @manchesterjazzfestival @manjazzfest piano trail, grand pianos no less, and indoors so no worries about the elements… are this one at Harvey Nich’s and the one at the Corn Exchange. They both have piped music in the background you have to compete with when you play… but there you go. Every cloud, as they say.

SoCraTes is my favourite event by a mile, and there is one in UK in Sept and in Germany in Aug.
Open space / unconference event, which means that (a) anything could happen, and (b) the content is up to the participants. Gives a much more organic / participatory feel, and leads to lots of exciting surprises.
For the UK one, I will be running a workshop for the training day, in how to facilitate mobs / ensembles.
