I have been programming since I was 12 (born in '73 #genx), currently enjoy coding in #Rust. I use Linux every day; I prefer open to closed. I try to live and let live when it comes to people's tech choices.

I work in tech but am learning how better to separate that from my passion for programming.

I used to podcast, I plan to again soon.

I practice #zazen, #qigong, and #taichi every day.

Good morning and TZAG, friends.

Back to the grind, . I am still getting used to the shift in my mind over the last few days. My usual morning anxiety, especially at the start of a fresh work week, was still present but more attenuated and easily managed.

I managed to get out for my first run on the week. The sun is still brilliant and I hope to enjoy a little of it amongst my 1:1s and other meetings.

I woke to bright sunshine but clouds have already rolled in. I am still trying to decide how I want to enjoy my extra day off. I would like to clear away at least one or two needful things I haven't gotten to this weekend. Otherwise I think I am leaning towards more relaxing and simply following however the day unfolds.

That's one of the needfuls taken care of, catching up on the household ledger and budget. After a quick shower and shave, I will take care of the other, a quick errand, then back to following the day as it unfolds.

An interesting thing happened on the way to groceries today that led to me picking up this book. Our organic market has several in this series.

Another driver followed us after he thought my frustrated pointing at a four way stop sign was my middle finger. He was threatening us with his car until I pulled over.

I reacted in self defense to confront him but with peace in my heart. We both wound up finding a bit of understanding and compassion.

This is day four of what feels like a subtle and profound change with my mind. Having hyperphantasia (a very powerful ability to visualize) I approach experiences like this with a certain amount of skepticism. I think I have enough direct experience to understand that what is going isn't only my imagination.

My mind feels more spacious. Feelings come and go, just as present but attenuated. Unless I attach or align to them. I feel more ability to do so voluntarily.

My phenomenal mood continues after a wonderfully restorative day yesterday. We spent a lot of time out under the cantilever shade down on our patio.

After a brief storm over night, the glorious weather is back. We have a few weekly chores to tend but should still have plenty of opportunity to enjoy the sun and the awesome, chill vibe we've been enjoying since Friday afternoon.

We were in the mood for a game or a puzzle. Far too nice out even for a favorite video game. Setting up a jigsaw puzzle felt like too much hassle. We each individually concluded a card game on the patio would be perfect. Several rounds of Zombie Fluxx was just about perfect.
