"We have the $270 Brother MFC-L2750DW, which adds a sheet-fed scanner, because my wife is a lawyer and scans things for judges or whatever she does with it. It doesn’t matter."
this is probably the best article i've ever read on the verge
@shortridge anything by justine tunney … her code is nuts but it’s also hilarious and art and it works AND often contains manually constructed justified width comments.
From the garbageday.email newsletter: the 4th most interacted with post on Facebook in June was a picture of a potato, with people posting 'Amen' to it repeatedly
Has anyone done a mapping of various open non-profit-community-corporate structrural models? I realize I don’t have terminology to talk about my intuitions/experiences in this space.
eg, some foundations are minimalist, focused on IP. Others provide no(at?)-cost SaaS, while partners/community-members provide for-profit services. Historically many provided hosting, but GitHub has mostly obsoleted that for new orgs. LF centers corporate memberships, with strict(ish) neutrality among them.
@luis_in_brief i just have a talk two days ago with the world’s most unscientific slide on this topic. if you find yourself creating a mapping you’re happy with, i’d love to see it published.
this is such a difficult thing to describe to people without visuals … and my visuals tend to involve a lot of fabrications (“maybe the mozilla foundation works like…this? i dunno, i don’t work there.”)
